August in Review: What We Built, and What Comes Next

A painting on a wall is worth something. So is a watch in a drawer. Neither one can be spent.

That is why FinanceFarm exists. Here is what August looked like.

What did owners bring us?

Owners have asked us to look at 238 pieces since we opened. [1]

Their own estimates on those pieces total more than 1.4 million Swiss francs. [1]

Forty one accounts have been opened. Twenty one pieces have been started for sale. [1]

What are people selling?

Fine art leads by a wide margin. It accounts for 73 percent of what owners ask us about. [1]

Luxury watches are 10 percent. Rare collectibles are 7 percent. [1]

If you own something in one of those three groups, you are the typical FinanceFarm seller.

What changed for sellers?

We opened seller onboarding across Switzerland, Germany and Austria. More people came through it than we planned for.

We lowered the minimum value we assess to 25,000 Swiss francs. [1] A good deal more qualifies now than did in July.

And we wrote the process down. [2] You get a written offer. It stays open for ten calendar days, so you have time to think. We check six things and the list never changes: ownership, identity of the object, authenticity, condition, provenance, and legal and customs status. Then six steps take you from yes to paid, and payment comes last, after verification, contract and handover.

None of that is new to how we work. What is new is that you can read all of it before you commit to anything.

What did we publish?

Two guides, written for owners rather than for bankers.

One explains the difference between bankable and non-bankable assets. That distinction decides whether you can actually use what you own.

The other sets out what happens after you submit a piece, because most people stop at that button for one reason. Nobody has told them what is on the other side of it.

We also explained structured co-ownership, which rests on Article 646 of the Swiss Civil Code, in force since 1907. [3] Several people hold a share in an object that stays physically undivided. The asset stays whole, in one place, in our custody. What is shared is the ownership.

Where do we appear in search?

On page one for the language of our own category, including "non bankable" and "bankable assets". [4]

In the top four for "luxury watch market 2026 secondary market trends". [4]

Our luxury watch market report carries most of that visibility, and AI platforms have started citing it when people ask about the secondary watch market. Original market data earns attention in a way that marketing copy never does.

What did we build?

Our development roadmap moved forward by more than eight months.

Our automated due diligence and compliance infrastructure reached its final stage. Our blockchain integration advanced to the point where full integration is planned for September.

What began as an ambitious idea will be, we believe, the world's first fully automated trading platform for premium non-bankable assets.

What is coming in September?

  • The FinanceFarm mobile app. Acquire co-ownership interests, manage your portfolio and onboard assets from your phone.
  • Blockchain integration. Fully built into the existing platform.
  • The mid-year luxury watch market report. Our strongest published work, extended.

If your piece is in draft, nobody has seen it

A draft is private until you submit it.

Add your photographs and your documents. Then press submit for sale. A specialist reviews it, and if it fits you receive a written offer that stays open for ten calendar days. [2] Nothing binds you until you sign.
